Showcasing Purpose-Driven Design through the Vardi Project

Students of NIF Global Pimpri Chinchwad had the opportunity to present their designs on the national reality series Pitch to Get Rich through the Vardi Project, founded by Rohit Chinchanikar. Under the creative guidance of Shital Thakkar, the collection focused on upcycling and recycling Indian Army uniforms into contemporary fashion pieces. These designs reflect sustainability, heritage, and meaningful storytelling, demonstrating how fashion can carry emotional value while remaining relevant and contemporary.

Learning from Industry Mentors

The show features industry leaders such as Anand Mahindra and Manish Malhotra, who provide mentorship and feedback to emerging designers and entrepreneurs. Their insights on branding, market strategy, and design direction add real-world perspective to students’ learning, helping them understand how ideas are evaluated in professional settings.

Connecting Creativity with Entrepreneurship

By showcasing their work on a national platform, students gained an understanding of how creativity, strategy, and planning come together to shape viable and impactful design solutions. The experience highlighted that while talent is essential, structured thinking, adaptability, and persistence are equally important in building a meaningful career in design.

Developing Skills in Storytelling and Presentation

The Vardi Project designs demonstrated the importance of clear communication, storytelling, and presentation. These skills are critical in design and entrepreneurship, helping students articulate their vision, connect with audiences, and convey the purpose behind their creations.

Nurturing Responsible and Innovative Designers

Through initiatives like the Vardi Project, NIF Global Pimpri Chinchwad continues to nurture students who are prepared to approach design and entrepreneurship responsibly. The focus on sustainability, heritage, and creative problem-solving ensures that graduates are equipped to make thoughtful, meaningful contributions to the fashion and creative industries.
